Karin Lockwood, School Counselor, Grades 6 and 8
Karin Lockwood has recently completed a Master’s Degree in School Counseling through Adams State University in Colorado. Prior to moving into the position of middle school counselor, Ms. Lockwood taught health in our middle school for many years. She has been a contributing and committed member of the student wellness team, whose tasks have included analyzing results of the student well-being survey and helping to identify next steps to address the needs of our students. Ms. Lockwood has also served on the Child Protection Team since its inception in 2014, working closely with the school psychologist, counselors, and administrators to improve child safety at our school. She is the parent of two kids who also attend AES (in grades 3 and 5). Her husband, Samir, works in the industrial automation sector. Karin also has a M.Sc. in Population and International Health from the Harvard School of Public Health and a B.A. in Latin American Studies from the College of Wooster in Ohio. In her free time, Karin enjoys taking photographs, practicing yoga, and baking.
Lalit Kapoor, MS Counseling Secretary
Lalit Kapoor has been working at AES for the past 5 years, including four years as executive secretary in the middle school counseling office. Lalit has a versatile skill set which he has gained from extensive work experience in both for-profit companies and not-for-profit organizations, such as the UN. Lalit is a keen learner and always willing to help the AES community. With an excellent sense of humor and strong inter-personal skills, Lalit has been able to gel well at AES. Lalit enjoys traveling and loves music.
